During October you can participate in any of our Spooktacular events to earn Bones to spend in this Spook Shop.

What are bones? How do I use them?

What are Bones?

  • Bones are an event currency. That means they can only be earned while a certain event is going on in the group. Each event currency has its own shop where you can spend that event currency for group items including event-specific items! 
  • If you don't spend all of your event currency in a given year, don't worry! Your leftover currency rolls over year after year. ​
  • You can also turn in all of your Bones for GC if you so desire. Each Bone is worth 50 GC.
  • Event currency is stored and spent using the group discord, so you will have to join the discord if you aren't already a member!

How do I spend my Bones?

Firstly, you need to be a member of the discord in order to spend your Bones, since all transactions with Bones are run through the group discord. 

Next, here is the process for spending those hard-earned Bones!
  1. In the channel navigation (the big list of channels) on the left-hand side, scroll all the way to the bottom of the list!
  2. Click on the #item-redeem channel.
  3. In the upper right, click on the pinned messages icon. It is the one that looks like a thumbtack/push pin two icons over from discord's search bar. 
  4. Find the redeeming items form and copy it with the copy button. You'll have to click the icon that appears when you put your curser/mouse over the redeeming items form. It looks like two sheets of paper stacked on top of each other!
  5. Paste the form into the message section and fill it out! You'll need your username, the number of bones you are using, and what item you are purchasing from the Spook Shop.

You can find a link to the item's page and what it does on the Store page. When you are ready to use the item, you follow the same process as above to use it. 
what is the spooktacular?
Why it's a long-standing Nordanner tradition of course!
For many years, Nordanner has been getting spooky and holding a range of fun events to participate in. Originally, the Spooktacular consisted of our yearly Chat Event and trick-or-treating around the group. Over the years this has evolved; We still do our yearly Chat Event and group trick-or-treating, but now we also participate in Drawlloween, have minigame bots in the discord, and this Spook Shop to celebrate the occasion. 

Here's a quick rundown of all of our Spooktacular Events:

Drawlloween

For several years, we have coordinated directly with Faime-Registry to bring all HARPG fans Drawlloween! 
We work together on the prompt list and share our talents on ribbons, tack for both breeds, and ideas for new events with each other every year. 

Spooktacular Chat Event

This is the true OG of the Spooktacular. Every year we host a huge event in the group discord where we play games in our #event-chat. These games usually consist of a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt, a 30-minute art challenge, and some other fun (or evil) minigames. Each Chat Event lasts on average 2-3 hours, so make sure you have snacks and hydration at the ready! Don't worry, we do give potty breaks. 

Bots n' Shop

We have two different minigame bots in our group discord that you can participate in as a part of the Spooktacular fun!

#haunted-maze
  • Every 6 hours, you can use the !maze command to move forward in the maze and have a chance to win a prize or find puzzle pieces. If you manage to collect them all and make it out of the maze alive, you win some extra goodies! If you collect all of the puzzle pieces through the bot, put them all in place and solve the maze on the image for even more goodies. 
  • This bot was added in 2025 in addition to Bones and the Spook Shop to serve as an alternative to Drawlloween so people who are unable to draw all 31 prompts can still get in on the Spooktacular fun!

#trick-or-treating
Open only on October 30-31st.
  • Every 2 hours, use the !tot command to trick-or-treat around Kisarana and hopefully find some treats to add your candy stash. This bot is just an rng-based bot, and there is no additional game component.

  • You are here! This webpage contains the Spook Shop and how to purchase from it. The Spook Shop, in addition to the #haunted-maze bot was added in 2025 to serve as an alternative to Drawlloween so people who are unable to draw all 31 prompts can still get in on the Spooktacular fun!
