The Royal Horses
The three horses above are part of the Royal Family itself. They are the horses intended only for the Queen and her most trusted to ride. As they are Royals, their bloodlines are never given to the public. They exist only within the canon storyline, but they certainly wouldn't mind joining you on your travels from time to time!
In order from left to right, the royal horses are as follows:

R01 Acacius
- Tragically, his life was taken by Vramien in May 2019. You can pay your respects to him in the Queen's Courtyard.
- She survived Vramien's corruption and fleeing The Lost Kingdom while in foal with Artemis. She is an easygoing but highly trained mare. She has had no lasting effects from Vramien's corruption herself, but it has affected Artemis.
- The offspring of Acacius and Azari. Due to Vramien's corruption, he has mutated into an Ortho Nordanner, but retains his parent's peafowl genes. He is Queen Nadja's personal mount, and shares a remarkable bond with her. He does not take kindly to other riders. He is well known to get into mischief around the kingdom.
The Queen's Generals
To see the Queen's General Registry, click on the badge above or go to the Queen's Generals Folder on NordannerDesign
A General is a horse owned by the Queen and used throughout the Kingdom. They are used in everyday training of guards, cavalry, protecting the kingdom, going on missions for the Queen, and living a life of luxury when not working.
Members who do not have any Nordanners, or simply want to show the Queen's Generals some love may use them at any time. You do not have to ask permission to use a General, but if you are including them in a show just be sure to read the rules beforehand to make sure this isn't prohibited for that particular event.

generals' breeding slots
Slots are occasionally available at sales, given as event prizes, in raffles and so on. Do not ask for slots to Generals, the group will make it known when one is available! They are valuable members of the Kingdom, and do not lend their slots out to just anyone.
If you have a Group Horse Slot item, it can be used in #item-redeem in the group discord with the proper form and a link to the horse you would like a slot to!

Generals Retired from Service
There are many Generals who have served their kingdom and have since retired to their new homes!
You will be able to find these Generals that have retired either through a post in the description of their original import image, or a comment under "Additional Information" on their import image with the Queen's General badge. In addition, they will be marked with the status "Ex-Group" on the ID list.

when a general retires
When a General Retires
A group horse will begin the retirement process once 10 breeding slots have been used. This process can be quite lengthy, and can continue until 12-13 of their slots are used. Group horses may also retire with less than 10 slots used, if they have been in service for an extended period of time.
The group will not announce publicly when horses enter the retirement process, as we want to ensure we are selecting homes that have shown genuine interest in the horse previously, and not just for the sake of trying to win them over. When the retirement of a General is finalized, we will make a post to celebrate the occasion!
When it does come time to find a group horse a permanent home, a very strict process is followed. The group considers the following factors, in this order:
Any potential homes must also meet the following criteria:
Please note: If the user that designed the gene is inactive, we may still offer them a group horse if it becomes available for retirement. If we do not receive a reply within 1 month, we will rehome via other means. However, if we do not receive a reply and the account has been active, we will consider this their ‘one offer’. If we do not receive a reply as the account is inactive, we will not consider this their ‘one offer’.
If a General makes it through the retirement process and there are no stand-out members when the above three criteria have been considered, the group reserves the right to retire that general via other means. This may include things like group events, giveaways, or passing away or retirement to NPCs in group lore.

When it does come time to find a group horse a permanent home, a very strict process is followed. The group considers the following factors, in this order:
- Were there any pre-existing deals for this general?
Some generals already have homes lined up due to agreements made when that General was created. The reasons for this will not be discussed by the group, but the members involved may choose to discuss this publicly if they wish. - Was this gene designed by a member?
If this gene that the group horse displays was designed by a member, they have the option to claim the first dominant group horse that is retired. If it is a natural gene, anomaly, or BP, it will be whichever is retired first. The gene designer only gets the choice once, and will only receive one retiring General. If this is refused, they will not be asked again in the future.
If you are the gene designer and do not want the dominant horse of the mutation gene you designed, and instead want the recessive you must note the group before either the dominant or recessive group horse enters the retirement process and let us know that you would prefer the recessive horse. Otherwise, you will be offered the dominant horse when it retires. - Has any art been made of this General?
The admin on the retiring committee will look at all of the art that they can find for this general. Such as, are there any particular members that used them repeatedly? This will not come down to sheer volumes - we will consider things like frequency, consistency, quality of the art, and so on.
Any potential homes must also meet the following criteria:
- Must not have any current or previous warnings or bans.
- Must still be active within the group.
- ‘Active’ is defined as having submitted a Nordanner-related design, reference, art, or literature piece, or participated in a group event within the last 6 months.
Please note: If the user that designed the gene is inactive, we may still offer them a group horse if it becomes available for retirement. rules on retired generals
If a general has been retired to you, you may use them in the same way you would any other Nordanner., with the exception of the following restrictions:
- Retired Generals may not be sold for any form of real money or currency. In-game currencies such as Admin Gems, Gold Coins, or Kaaring are acceptable. Retired Generals may also be traded for group items, other horses, or breeding slots.
- All Generals have boosted slots, and start with 15 slots. Any slots unused prior to retirement can be used or sold by the owner as they see fit. Slots may be sold for real money or currency, it is only the sale of the whole horse that is restricted.
- Further slots can be unlocked as reputation levels increase.
- Additional slots items cannot be used, as they already have 5 additional slots.
- Retired Generals may not be Deceased by members, with certain exceptions in the case of member bans.
- Redesign Tokens may not be used on retired Generals, and the Nordanner group retains the copyright for these designs, so they may not be moved to another breed.
- If the horse is ever sold or gifted, it is the current owner's responsibility to see to it that the new owner is aware of these terms, and that the terms follow the horse. Failure to do so may result in group warnings.
The Queen's Courtyard -- Generals who have passed.
The Queen has built a grand courtyard to honor those Generals who have passed, whether it be those buried under the cherry trees in The Lost Kindgom, and more recent losses due to Vramien and his minions.
The courtyard is located just outside of the Royal Stables. It features a bubbling fountain carved in the shape of a Nordanner, cherry trees ringing the courtyard, and marble pedestals with inscriptions of those who were lost, allowing visitors to leave their offerings for the fallen.
