I see yer new here, and need a spot o' help figurin' out where to start.
​Well ye found the right place!
We are a closed breed - this means they are not free to create. All Nordanners must be imported or bred from existing horses.

There are five ways to get a Nordanner:
  1. Participate in the Newbie Training Arena!​
  2. Visit the Nordanner Adoption Center and adopt one today!
  3. ​Buy an existing horse through private sales.
    You can find these sales in the nord-advertisements channel in the Discord, or the advertisements folder in the group. 
  4. Get breeding slots with a registered mare and stallion to create a foal.
    You can find breeding slots for sale in the same areas as whole-horse sales. 
  5. By buying an import through either the Monthly Sales channel in the Discord, or the twice-yearly Mutation Import Sales. 
I have my first Nordanner, now what?
​Once you've put in a join request to be a member of the group, you will need to familiarize yourself with our Group Rules- we are a relaxed community, but some rules have been put in place to protect our members based on past experiences within the group.
Once you have given those a read it is time to design your horse if it isn't already, and then get them registered. You cannot enter them in group activities or breed from them until they are officially designed and registered under your name.

Once you've registered your new horse, you can get to the fun part! There's many things for you to explore and participate in, and it is all found within the pages of this website. We recommend starting with the pages listed under the "Getting Started" and "How To" menus to orient yourself, and joining the Discord! From there, you can branch out into our activities and get involved with the community <3 ​
Where exactly do I need to start?
If you've made it to this page, congrats! You've taken a big first step in joining Nordanner!
​But this can all be confusing even if you've been a part of HARPG for a while, since every breed is a little different.

Step 1:
  • Join the group Discord!
    • This is the very first step you should take. Most of our community hangs out on the discord, and it is the BEST place to go if you need help fast. A lot of our group communication runs through the discord, and we have dedicated help threads to make it quick and easy!
    • You can find join links on the Home page, in the footer at the bottom of this page, and many other locations on the website. Just click wherever there is a link to the discord, and you will be redirected via a join link.
Step 2:
  • Check out our DeviantART group!
    • You will want to join the DeviantART group in order to register horses, submit Cartography and Arena, submit art to the group, and more!
    • Just like with the Discord, you can find a link on the Home page, and in the footer at the bottom of this page. 
Step 3: 
  • Read the Group Rules
    • ​This is one of the most important steps. Every HARPG is different, and has different rules. You will need to know what the rules are for Nordanner specifically, as they apply to every member!
Step 4: 
  • Acquire your first Nordanner!
    • Toward the top of this page we have 5 different ways to accomplish this. If you are a newbie, we highly recommend the Newbie Arena as a means of acquiring your very first Nordanner. The Adoption Center is another great way to do this!
Step 5:
  • Design and Register your first Nordanner
    • If you go through the Newbie Arena, Adoption Center, or acquire an already designed horse, you won't need to worry about designing your horse, you will simply have to register it!
      • If you DO need to design your horse, you can find out how to do this on the Design Your Foals page. 
    • When you are ready to register your shiny new friend, you can find out how to do this on the Registration page!
Step 6: 
  • Create your Nordanner Bank!
    • You'll need this when you start doing activities to store all of your won in-game currency and items. It's also helpful to the admin team if you do this ahead of when you start participating in things, so that we don't have to double check if you have a bank first!
    • To create your bank, you will need to go to the discord and scroll all the way to the bottom and find the #bank-adjustments tab. Click on that, then click on the pin icon in the upper right to bring up the pinned message with instructions and which form you need!
    • If you are a returning member and you've changed your username you should let us know at this time. Then, you will be prompted to note the group to send an Ownership Transfer for any horses listed under your old username if you have not done so already. Anything else you need to do will also be included at the same time!

Step 7:
  • Explore Kisarana, and dive into the wide world of Nordanner!
    • You are free to do things from here at your own pace. There are no activity requirements to be a part of Nordanner, and you don't have to follow the cannon storyline -- it is just there to add a bit of spice and richness to our world!
    • All the information you need to explore is on this website. Previously, it was hosted directly in the group in journals, but that has been done away with and this website created to keep things neatly and conveniently in one place for you. 
    • Everything under the Getting Started tab has been specifically tailored to get you all caught up on Nordanner and its history, and all the important quick-start group stuff!
