Let's start with some sample patterns for your bridle.
There are of course hundreds of different patterns and styles out there to suit your preference, but below is some of the simplest and most popular bridle styles for a Nordanner.

A proper bridle is designed to be secure, and the particular design of these bridles is quite handy for attaching an armored faceplate for additional protection! Your bridle pattern can be as simple or as fancy as you want, and does not necessarily need to have the crossed brow -- it can have any number of more modern bridle styles. In addition, you can adorn your bridle with any amount of decoration you want. It can be simple leather and good quality steel, or contain tooled patterns, decoration, and even jewels if you are feeling fancy! |
Saddles
Next, lets move on to some sample patterns for your saddle!
These are just the saddle patterns, you can put any type of pad or good thick blanket under any of these saddles, depending on your horse's overall shape and saddle fit.
The below patterns are also originally derived from the three main saddlemakers that came over with the mass-exodus. Since then, they have gone out of business, but their saddle designs still remain popular to this day when creating dragon tack. There are of course hundreds of different patterns and styles out there to suit your preference as well, you don't have to use any of the below styles!

The pattern shown here is a pattern originally by The Royal Saddlery. They are a very light saddle, but don't compromise on quality. In addition, this style of saddle typically comes with a saddle "cloak" to add a personalized flair. These saddles are more than pretty, they are also very secure to ride in and are great for a variety of disciplines. From a simple trail ride, to battle training, this saddle is designed to keep you seated! Please note: The Royal Saddlery logo is not required. It is included to pay homage to the original creators. |
This pattern is one originally designed by Sean Sauverin prior to the mass-exodus. This saddle is well-loved by travelers and explorers for its comfort and functionality -- balancing weight with added features for including saddlebags. It also has a rather deep seat, helping to keep the rider balanced on the horse. These saddles tend to have less flair than the other types, but it can certainly be dressed up with blankets and tooling! Please note: The Sean Sauverin logo is not required. This pattern is derived from the Caio & Sons Saddlery that existed prior to the mass exodus. It is the oldest and most well-known of saddle patterns for dragon tack. This saddle is custom-tailored to fit both the horse and rider, and because of this tends to be very comfortable. It is also very customizeable with different colored leathers, tooling, a fabric seat, or even added bling on the saddle skirt. Some variations of this saddle also include a saddle horn for added gear-carrying capability, along with the included tie downs in the rear for saddle bags. This saddle is designed primarily for long-distance travel, but can also be used for parades and dragon hunts. It tends to be heavier than the other two saddle types, but it is not a hindrance to your Nordanner. Please note: The Caio & Sons logo is not required. It is included to pay homage to the original creators. |
Aerial Tack
A well-trained Nordanner is not only a force to be reckoned with on the ground. They are also skilled in aerial combat!
For this reason, many of the tack patterns above can be altered to account for wings. But, some tack makers have created lighter versions of tack that are better suited for flying, and the pattern at the left is one of many examples. This sort of tack can be customized to rider preference, including things such as leg straps, a deeper seat, and hand grips to help the rider keep their seat. |
