1.1.12 Dragons: Repugnid

Repugnid

Draconis rancidulus
Picture
Typical Adult Repugnid 6-8 ft | 182-243 cm at the top of shoulder. Lifespan: Estimated 3-5 years. True lifespan unknown.

About:

Repunginid are strange creatures, hardly qualifying for the term ‘dragon’ in their current state. This species is thought to be highly corrupted by the dark energy that infiltrated their homes--their physical appearance being heavily deformed as a result. Many people have speculated what the species may have been in their prime, with some believing their second pair of forelimbs developed from what used to be a set of wings.
Very little is known about this species social group or breeding habits, as they spend the majority of their lives lay dormant, due to a lack of prey within their homeland. They will only awaken if they sense vibrations of a potential food source, which is how this species was discovered. The majority of these dragons have been found alone, but there have been groups of up to 3 seen on occasion. Their bite is known to be highly venomous, and their skin produces a thick, viscous substance that can immobilize their prey if it comes into contact with an open wound or mucus membrane. When awakened, they will let out a piercing screech, and waste no time in charging at whatever awakened them--if contact is made, it is usually fatal.

Hunting Recommendations:Goldenwing is useful, as they will lay dormant if they cannot sense vibrations through the floor. Although difficult to find then asleep.
Toxicat to combat the poison they secrete if contact is made.
May be useful to use bait to awaken and lure them out with sound by dropping objects from above.
Fire is a useful tool to use against them--they’ve been documented to fear it, and their secretions are sometimes flammable.
Habitat & Diet:Only found in Malgosfrom and Kothandryl. Both of these lands are very barren, with very little vegetation or life. Repugnids can be found in various areas, in the open, caves, near water, or in bog-like conditions. Blend in very well with just about anything, and will bury themselves just under the surface in open lands, or under rubble of ruins. Due to this, they can be hard to see until they are awake.
Breeding season: Unknown. It is theorized that they don’t breed, but are mutated from other species.
